As El Salvador continues to recover from a long period of war, new institutions are being built. This nation with a population of 6,000,000 has a literacy rate of 84 percent. Established in 1994, the Methodist Church in El Salvador consists of nine local churches in three regions with 1,200 members. Due to extremely high unemployment (because of war), an average of 500 people leave for the United States daily. The General Board of Global Ministries and Duke University Medical School provide health care services, while the Claremont School of Theology offers theological education to 40 students.
WITH YOUR HELP.. The church can continue making education and leadership development a very high priority.
