Democratic Republic of Congo

Founded in 1992, the Patrice Emery Lumumba University was heavily damaged by war. Currently, the university enrolls 500-600 students in the areas of theology, education, law, economics, social sciences, humanities and health sciences. The school also provides training programs for nurses, agricultural engineers and vocational technical training. Operating with no reliable budget, the university is not able to improve its campus.

Your support to this project has helped us establish contacts with the university leadership to discuss future possibilities and the need to strengthen a network that connects existing United Methodist schools and universities throughout the Democratic Republic of Congo.
